Stewardship

Stewardship and its meaning are an important part of our Christian faith and life. The dictionary states that stewardship means managing someone else’s affairs. A steward, then, manages the affairs of what someone else owns. As Christians, we are stewards of what God owns. He entrusts possessions and talents to us, so that we are overseers and managers of these blessings. God entrusts these gifts to us to use as long as we are on this earth. Being faithful stewards, faithfully managing those blessings that God has entrusted to our care, is an important part of the Christian life.

Zion is God’s house. His warmth and love are felt here within God’s house. God has richly blessed Zion. We have dedicated and caring pastors to lead us in Christian love. We have a dedicated and caring principal and faculty at the school. We have been blessed with a day school that teaches God’s Word as part of a quality education. We have a Sunday School served by a devoted teaching staff. Through these ways and many others, God’s love is extended to his people through Zion.

What a privilege it is to be a member of Zion. Members are motivated by the love that Jesus demonstrated in so many ways. Every member has abilities that can enhance the ministry and service here at Zion and to our community. There is great joy in serving in God’s house by being involved in the life of Zion as a congregation. Some of the opportunities for service include:

Dorcas Society

Adult Choir

Jubilant Bells

Heartwarmers

Bible study breakfast (For both men and women)

Senior Worship luncheons

PTL of Zion School

Vacation Bible School

Sunday School

Quilters

Ushers

Christian Growth Committee

Other opportunities to be involved include service on one of the boards of the congregation:

Board of Elders

Board of Trustees

Board of Finance

Board of Stewardship/Outreach

Board of Parish Education

Board of Zion Lutheran School

It is indeed a privilege to serve in God’s house. We thank God for those who are giving their time and abilities and financial support to Zion’s programs. We thank God for the many blessings he gives through such service—both to those who serve and those who are served.
