A group of members from St. Paul's Lutheran Church met on the first Sunday of Advent, November 29, 1903, in the home of C. B. Boiken to discuss the establishment of a Lutheran Church within the village. They asked their pastor, Rev. A. H. Bauer to draw up a constitution. On Friday evening, December 18, the constitution was presented to the group, and adopted in the home of H. F. Wilke.
A third meeting was held on December 27, 1903, again in the Wilke residence. The purpose of this meeting was to create a list of prospective members. Wm. Rump and Wm. J. Hinze were appointed to the task. Also at this meeting, the members resolved to incorporate, according to the laws of the State of Illinois. Wm. J. Hinze, was elected secretary, and authorized to file for the incorporation of the EVANGELISH LUTERISCHEN ZIONS GEMEINDE of Beecher, Illinois.
